The government in Kuwait has shown concern over payroll for Kuwait’s public sector, which is expected to increase to $43.1 billion (KD13 billion) in the next three years compared to $20.5 million (KD6.2 million) last year.
The public sector pay in three years' time will be equivalent to 70 percent of Kuwait's 2016’s state budget, estimated at $63 billion (KD19 billion), local media reported.
The salaries of employees in ministries increased six-fold in the past 24 years according to further data. Concerns from Kuwait’s government come in line with reports that the state’s budget is already experiencing deficit.
