The State of Kuwait reiterated its support for the United Kingdom in whatever measures taken regarding the poisoning incident in Salisbury on March 4.

Speaking before a UN Security Council session on the matter, Kuwait Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Mansour AlOtaibi said UK Delegate to the UN Karen Pierce have detailed the Council with latest developments as part of the ongoing investigation of the 'Salisbury Nerve Agent Attack', which so far resulted in identifying a number of suspects.

Ambassador AlOtaibi lauded the investigation's "professionalism and inclusivity." The State of Kuwait is firmly against proliferation, production and storing of chemical weapons and denounces any use or threat to use such weapons, whether directly or indirectly whatever the justifications might be, AlOtaibi stressed.

Sergei Skripal, a former Russian military officer and double agent for the UK's intelligence services, and his daughter Yulia were poisoned in Salisbury, England, with a Novichok nerve agent, according to official UK sources and the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
