Kuwaiti authorities have stepped up security measures around embassies in the country, particularly for the Russian embassy following the deadly attack on the Russian Ambassador to Turkey in Ankara this week, local media reported.
The Russian Embassy in Kuwait City has reportedly installed additional CCTV cameras following the assassination of Andrei Karlov in Ankara on Monday.
However, a security source said that such heightened measures are “not new” and “are imposed around the year,” according to Arabic newspaper Alqabas. “There are directives to ensure the forces in charge of guarding embassies are ready to deal with any terror attacks targeting the country”, the source added.
