Kuwait provides USD two mln worth of aid to Indonesian tsunami's victims

Kuwait, upon instructions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, will be offering USD two million worth of humanitarian aid to help victims of earthquake-tsunami that hit Indonesian island of Sulawesi.

The government of Kuwait assigned the Foreign Ministry and Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) to coordinate with humanitarian organizations to deliver aid for needy as fast as possible, Deputy Premier and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Anas Al-Saleh said in a statement after a cabinet meeting Monday.

The death toll of the quake-tsunami disaster in Sulawesi has risen to some 1,763. The government, chaired by Acting Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al- Hamad Al-Sabah, also expressed sorrow over the high number of victims and displaced as a result of the natural disaster.
