Kuwait is keen on supporting local products and introduce them to new markets abroad, a ministry official said Friday.
Taking part in world events, especially the Cairo International Fair, is a "great opportunity" to showcase Kuwaiti products, said Mohammad Al-Khaldi, representative of the Kuwaiti ministry of commerce and industry, in statements to KUNA.
His remarks came on the occasion of Kuwait taking part in the Cairo Fair. This participation, according to Al-Khaldi, is also a chance for Kuwaiti business people to meet their world peers, exchange expertise and view investment opportunities in a bid to beef up trade volume.
Kuwaiti products are "very popular" due to their high quality and competitive prices, he noted.
The Kuwaiti pavilion in the Fair hosts 10 companies specialized in food manufacturing, therapeutic mattresses, cooling industry and chemicals among others.
The 49th edition of the fair sees the participation of 300 international companies from 12 countries, with India being the guest of honor this year.
