Kuwait has consistently supported humanitarian efforts in 2018

Kuwait's humanitarian aid continued to help many people in need in different parts of the world in 2018 .Following are major relief efforts by government and private bodies in Kuwait

January 2: Kuwait provided power generators for the health sector in Yemen.

January 8: Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) treat Syrian refugees in Lebanon with kidney problems.

January 10: The International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) launched a campaign to alleviate suffering of people in Syrian and Palestinian refugee camps.

Jan: 10: KRCS sent five trucks loaded with 90 tons of relief supplies and food for the Yemeni people.

January 12: Kuwait donated USD 165,000 to establish an Arabic Language Education Center in Serbia.

January 14: Al-Rahma International of the Social Reforms Society, Kuwait, sent two relief convoys to Syrian refugees in Turkey.

January 17: Kuwait students' assistance society opened an e-library at Al-Hussain cancer center in Jordan.

January 18: KRCS distributed aid for the displaced persons in south Sudan.

January 29: KRCS opened Kuwait Humanitarian Village in the Philippines.

January 30: KRCS distributed aid for people who fled from eruption of a volcano in the Philippines.

February 5: KRCS and Direct Aid signed a humanitarian cooperation agreement.

February 7: KRCS signed an agreement with Kuwait Finance House to support Syrian orphans in Turkey.

February 8: KRCS donated three mobile clinics for the displaced Iraqis.

February 12: Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) pledged USD 335 million to support humanitarian conditions in Iraq.

February 14: Iraq's reconstruction conference pledged USD 30 billion.

February 22: KRCS launched a donation campaign for the people in Ghouta in Syria.

March 3: KRCS opened 50 water wells for 50 villages in the Niger.

March 15: KRCS launched a donation campaign for the people in Eastern Ghouta, Syria.

April 4: The Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society and the Tajik Red Crescent Society ink memorandum of understanding for achieving partnership in humanitarian and relief work.

April 26: Kuwait sets up a surgical camp for treating people in the Republic of Benin. April 27: The Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society opens an orphanage for Syrian refugees in the southern Turkish city of Hatay.

May 10: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society dispatches urgent medical supplies to Palestinian hospitals in Gaza Strip.

May 14: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society distributes food packages to poor families in Kuwait.

May 16: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society and the UN World Food Program (WFP) sign a deal to provide necessary assistant to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh.

May 25: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) dispatches relief supplies to the people of the Yemeni Socotra Island which was hit by a fierce storm.

June 2: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) sends a second batch of relief aid to hurricane-hit Yemeni Socotra Island.

June 5: The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) announces third batch of relief aid to hurricane-hit Yemeni Socotra Island.

July 3: KRCS distributed 2,000 food baskets on displaced Iraqis in Basra, southern Iraq.

July 21: Kuwait Relief Society distributed 860 food baskets in Yemeni island of Suqatra.

July 22: Kuwait, upon instructions of His Highness the Amir, donated 17 power generators to Basra.

July 26: Kuwait provided fuel to Iraq to supply power and water stations.

July 29: Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor said total donations during holy month of Ramadhan amounted to 51.8 million Kuwaiti Dinars (KD) (around USD 168.2 million).

July 31: Health Minister Dr. Bassel Al-Sabah said Kuwait offered USD 59 million worth of medical aid for the Yemeni people.

August 3: Kuwait Relief society distributed 2,554 food baskets and over 4,000 water tankers on people of Hodeida, Yemen.

August 4: Kuwait offered USD 50 million to World Food Program, destined for the Yemeni people.

August 11: Kuwait offered urgent USD 50 million to honor food demands in Yemen.

August 12: Director General of the International Organization of Migration (IOM) thanked His Highness the Amir for his support for the people in need around the world.

August 24: Kuwait offered USD half a million to Republic of Vanuatu.

September 1: KRCS launched a campaign to provide education for over 5,000 students in Kuwait.

September 3: KRCS distributed food aid in eastern basin in Mauritania.

September 5: Al-Rahma International distributed KD 30,000 worth of meat for needy in Sudan.

September 16: Kuwait Zakat House said 8,563 livestock were sacrificed during Eid Al-Adha feast in 29 Arab and Islamic countries.

Sept. 30: KRCS began a campaign to distribute food, electrical appliances and clothes on needy families in Kuwait.

October. 6: Kuwait Zakat House opened schools complex for .Syrian refugees in eastern Lebanon.

October. 8: KRCS distributed aid for victims of earthquake and floods in Indonesia and India.

October. 9: Kuwait's non-resident Ambassador to Kosovo Fayez Al-Jassem opened Kuwait Health Center in Kosovo.

October. 10: KRCS distributed food, electrical appliances and clothes on families in need in Kuwait.

October. 11: Kuwait donated USD 200,000 to fight blind and eye diseases in Guatemala.

October. 13: Twelve Kuwaiti dOctoberors provided treatment for over 200 Syrian refugees in Jordan.

October. 17: Kuwait Relief Society began USD one million aid campaign for people of Muhra province, yemen.

October 23: Kuwait opened Halabja Hospital in Sulaimaniya, northern Iraq, following its reNovember ation.

October. 23: Kuwait donated KD 40,000 (USD 130,000) to build a mosque in Montenegro.

October 25: KRCS and Nigerian Red Cross agreed to offer aid for victims of man-made and natural disasters in Niger.

October. 25: Kuwait Al-Najat Society started a humanitarian program for a 1,000 Syrian orphans.

October. 26: Kuwait started a rehabilitation program for students in Iraq's Nineveh and Mosul.

October. 26: Kuwait Patients Helping Fund society opened 22 clinics in eastern Sudan, a project costing USD 1.75 million.

October. 28: IICO sent medical team to help the Rohingya Muslim refugees.

October. 30: Kuwait Food Bank launched an initiative to promote culture of volunteering in society.

November 1: Cancer Awareness National Campaign began a humanitarian mission in Mauritania.

November 1: Kuwait opened a special medical center for surgeries in one of the cancer centers in Bulgarian capital, Sofia.

November 3: Kuwait Relief Society launched a campaign to help the displaced of Hodeida city, Yemen.

November 3: UN Refugee agency (UNHCR) in Kuwait launched a campaign to help children refugees.

November 4: KRCS launched a campaign to help Syrian refugees in neighboring countries during winter.

November 7: Kuwait Al-Najat society opened an orphan house for Syrian girls in southern Turkey.

November 13: KRCS signed an agreement with Afghanistan's Red Crescent to treat children with heart problems.

November 15: Kuwait handed over USD 42 million for the UN Palestinian refugees agency (UNRWA).

November 17: Kuwait Salam Society for humanitarian and charitable action sent 105 trucks loaded with relief supplies for Yemen and Syria.

November 20: KRCS distributed winter clothes on 220 families in Kuwait .

November 25: Kuwait Food Bank launched winter cloth campaign for needy families.

November 26: Kuwait hosted a conference against hunger and participants pledged two billion meals for the poor around the world.

December 4: A team of Kuwaiti doctors arrived in southern Turkey to carry out operations for Syrian refugees .

December.4: Kuwait food bank began a campaign to honor needs of 1,000 orphans in and outside Kuwait .

December 8: Kuwait's Al-Najat society and Bar society offered humanitarian aid for Syrian refugees in southern Turkey.

December 12: Kuwait contributed USD million to UNHCR.

December 22: KRCS started a campaign to distribute 3,300 bags of winter clothes on workers nation-wide.
