Kuwait gold reserves stand at 79 tons

Kuwait occupied the sixth place in the Arab World by recording an estimated 8.20 percent growth rate last year with 79 tons in gold reserves, while Saudi Arabia took the first place in the Arab World and came 17th globally with 322.9 tons of gold as of the beginning of the current year, indicating growth rate of 1.60 percent, reports Al- Shahed daily.

The US was ranked number one worldwide with 8,133.5 tons, followed by Germany, while the International Monetary Fund in its current report stated that Lebanon is ranked second in the Arab world and 19th internationally with 21.20 percent growth rate and 286.8 tons of gold, followed by Algeria, which came third in the Arab world and 25th worldwide with 3.40 percent growth rate and 173.6 tons of gold, while Libya took the fourth place in the Arab region and 31st place worldwide with growth rate of 4.50 percent and 116.6 tons in gold treasury.
