The government goes to extended lengths to exercise monitoring charitable work in Kuwait, said Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and Minister of State for Planning and Development Hend Al-Sabeeh on Tuesday.
In remarks opening a forum on the role of societal participation in furthering the nation's international relations, she stressed that streamlining charitable work in the country was a strategic objective of the government in its goal to preserve the high station it has attained in the field of humanitarian work.
She advocated the partnership of the public and private sectors in safeguarding the achievements of the nation in humanitarian work, while extoling the foreign ministry and the central bank of Kuwait for their cooperation with the ministries she runs in combating terrorism through overseeing that money transfers for purposes of charity remain free of any irregularities.
In similar remarks at the forum today, deputy chairman of the union of Kuwaiti banks Majed Al-Ajeel highlighted the work of the private sector in actively supporting worldwide relief aid by Kuwait.
For instance, he referred to the union's contributions of four million dollars to the cause of the Syrian refugees in response to the Kuwaiti government's plea to the private sector to channel funds for the benefit of the refugees. The forum ended its functions today.
