Kuwait's Interior Minister Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah said Tuesday Kuwait supported every Arab effort aimed at cracking down on terrorism and extreme ideologies.
"The magnitude of threats surrounding us require unity and serious work in order to confront all forms of extremism and ideological deviation which are distant from Islam and Islamic Sharia," Sheikh Mohammad, also Deputy Prime Minister, told KUNA following arrival in Algiers for an Arab Interior Ministers' meeting, due on March 10-14.
Arab countries should join hands to address security concerns in order to contribute to economic development, he added.
Sheikh Mohammad underlined importance of Arab interior ministers' meeting because it would contribute to improving security and stability of Arab citizens.
He said Algerian President Abdulaziz Bouteflika was playing a major role in boosting Arab security.
Sheikh Mohammad said Arab countries needed to confront spread of rumors through social media network, cyber-crimes, counterfeiting, money laundering and drug trafficking.
"I confident the Arab interior ministers will approve a number of decisions that will address circumstances in our region ... and a number of security agreements," he said.
