Kuwait, S. Korea discuss health cooperation

Kuwait Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Bader Al-Awadhi met Friday with Korean Health Minister Park Neung-hoo, as they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of health.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the progress of health cooperation between the two countries, means of enhancing them, and ways of benefiting from the high quality Korean medical services, said a statement issued by the embassy in Seoul. Ambassador Al-Awadhi affirmed that cooperation in the field of health between the two countries is very important; both sides are keen to strengthen and sustain.

He praised the significant humanitarian role offered by the Korean Republic towards Kuwaiti patients seeking medical services and health care at Seoul's medical institutions and centers. Al-Awadhi further said, that during the meeting, he discussed with the Korean official new prospects for medical cooperation especially in the field of training, organs transplant and enhancing media services in order to introduce Kuwaiti citizens with health services offered by the Republic of Korea. On his Part, the Korean minister underlined his country's keenness to boost health cooperation with Kuwait, seeking Kuwait's participation in the upcoming medical conference hosted by South Korean in May 2018.

Kuwait and South Korea had signed a cooperation memorandum in the medical field during a visit by His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in May 2016.
