Kuwait MEDICA, the biggest and most significant healthcare exhibition, was held from the 18 to 20 March, 2014 at the Al Baraka Ballroom of Crowne Plaza Hotel.
The three-day exhibition, which was held under the patronage of Kuwait Minister of Health, Dr. Ali Obaidli, was inaugurated jointly by Prof. Tawfik Khoja, Director General Executive Board, Health Ministers Council for GCC and Eng. Samir Al Asfor, Asst. Undersecretary for General Services, Kuwait Ministry of Health.
Kuwait Medical Tourism Conference and GCC E-Health ran parallel to the event and featured in the grand exhibition displaying the most innovative technologies, systems, products and services in medical field.
More than 100 local and international equipment vendors and healthcare service and solution providers from Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Turkey, Greece, India, China, Korea, Thailand, Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the event .
The five conferences and four workshops that ran concurrently during the three-day exhibition saw the participation of key government officials, medical professionals and some of the best healthcare organizations in the world.
The GCC GSMA Workshop on M-health also witnessed the attendance of Heads of GCC Ministry of Health - Information Technology Departments and leading mobile service operators serving the GCC states. Workshops that were held on the sidelines of the exhibition included a Change Management Workshop in Nursing Practices, which was organized for the MOH and private sector nursing personnel.
Another workshop on leadership practices was attended by Health Administrators and health professionals from both public and private sector. Meanwhile, the Health Insurance workshop deliberated social health insurance practices.
The nuclear medicine council also hosted a Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT Workshop that featured prominent speakers. The large number of healthcare professionals who visited the event and the quality of participants was the clearest indication of the resounding success of the exhibition.
