The Minister of Commerce and Industry Yousef Al-Ali inaugurated the first Kuwait International Trade Fair at the Mishref Fairgrounds on 21 February. The week-long fair in which exhibitors from over 25 Arab and foreign countries participated in ran till 27 February.
Speaking at the inauguration of the event, the minister of commerce and industry said the expo titled ‘Kuwait Heart of the Commercial World’, is aimed at promoting His Highness the Amir’s vision of transforming Kuwait into a regional hub for commerce and finance. He added the exhibition was an opportunity to support the enhancement of relations in all fields between the participating countries. The expo also provided an opportunity for local businesses people to interact with visiting representatives of international companies, to examine prospects for trade and commerce and engage in economic cooperation.
The ‘India Pavilion’ at the Kuwait International Trade Fair was supported by 11 leading companies from India, and displayed a variety of authentic Indian products and merchandise, including apparel, furnishings, furniture and a variety of handicrafts in marble, brass and wood as well as paintings and imitation jewelry.
