KDNA -Kozhikode District NRI Association Kuwait has decided to conduct Malabar Maholsavam on 26 February at Indian Central School, Abbassiya, as a full day event. The venue, titled 'Kallai Kadav', will landscape the heritage and cultural significance of Malabar and its deep rooted relation with Kuwait. The entrance will resemble the famous 'Kallai Bridge' in Kozhikode.
The event, beginning at 10am, will feature different types of dances, oppana, mehfil and comedy show by the famous M-80 Moosa and Pathu team – Vinod Kovoor and Lakshmi Surabhi. It will also include great musical performances by Afzal, with the fabulous background singers – Akhila – from Malayalam film industry, in addition to henna competition for ladies, fancy dress competition, face-painting competition for children, as well as cooking competition for ladies. Various types of Malabar foods will be available in the stalls to gorge on and the stage will welcome eminent socio-cultural personalities from Kuwait and India.
An exhibition of caricature of history of Kuwait will be held at the venue, while the highlight of the day will be a cultural program featuring prominent film director IV Sasi, and the musical eve lead by famous Afzal and Akhila.
KDNA President Aziz Thikkodi, General Secretary Sathian Varoonda, Program Chairman Suresh Mathur, Program General Convener Zubair M. M, Treasurer Zaheer Alakkal, Media Secretary Muhammed Rafi were present during the press meet which announced the festivities of Malabar Maholsavam.
