The Kuwait Kannada Koota (KKK), a non-profit socio cultural organization and a pioneer among Kannada associations in Kuwait, held the 2015 Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations with great splendor at the Cambridge English School auditorium in Mangaf on the evening of 6 November.
The guest of honor for the event was social activist, philanthropist and chairperson of Infosys Foundation, Padma Shri Sudha Narayana Murthy. Following lighting of the traditional lamp by KKK officials, a dazzling cultural performance was presented by the pool of talented young Kannada artists.
In an inspiring speech that had the audience riveted, Mrs. Murthy pointed out that expatriates wherever they lived were individual representatives of India. Saying that Indians living abroad reflected the ethos of India to people in the host country, she urged the audience to be mindful of their actions, words and behavior so that it gave people the right impressions about India, its rich culture and its great traditions.
