The registration process for ‘Niram 2016’ Painting Competition is in full swing and the registration has already crossed 1,500.  Students from more than 20 Indian Schools in Kuwait are expected to take part in the painting competition, which will be held at Indian Community School, Khaitan, in association with ‘American Tourister’, on the occasion of Children's Day celebration by marking the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the First Prime Minister of India. It is scheduled for 11 November at 2.00 pm, according to Sunil Kumar, the General Convener of the Niram-2016 Organizing Committee.

Childrens’ Day is a day to remember a great leader, who in his quiet but determined way, laid the foundation to convert a nascent nation into a world power. His contributions to India and the world are always remembered.  He had hope for the oppressed people of Asia, Africa and South America. He was a true democrat and a socialist. He was a writer, philosopher and secular. He was one of the strong pillars of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Above all, he was a supporter of world peace, a tireless fighter for justice throughout the world. He lived for great causes. Further, it was Nehru who insisted that if the world was to exist at all; it must exist as one, Mr. Jaison Joseph, Kala(Art) Kuwait President, stated in a press release issued on the occasion.

Mr. Rakesh P. D., General Secretary, Kala(Art) Kuwait, emphasized the exclusive prizes for the winners, mentioning the first place with gold coin and gold medal, second place with silver medal and third place with bronze medal along with memento and certificate. Besides the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, there will be 50 awards for Merit Prizes and Ten (10) percent of the participants will be awarded with consolation prizes.
