KWA conducted its Onam and Eid celebration in United Indian School auditorium, Abbassiya on 4 November.
The event commenced with a formal inauguration function, followed by cultural programs and delicious “Onam Sadya” (lunch) from Hi-dine kitchen.
This is the second year of KWA celebration since its inception in 2015. It is one of its trademark events in its calendar of year activities inculcating high values in the society. The event was spectacular in terms of people’s participation, quality of various cultural items and dignitaries’ presence from various ranges of life.
The event started with the India and Kuwait national anthems, followed by a silent prayer for the soldiers who safeguarded the country.
The program was inaugurated by Patron of KWA and famous social activist Babuji Bathery by lighting the traditional lamp.
The symbolic “Mahabali” was escorted to the stage with much Chendamelam (Traditional Kerala Band), fanfare accompanied by KWA Officials and guests.
The function was chaired by KWA President Remsy John and KWA Secretary Mubarack Kambrath welcomed the audience.
Prominent speaker Anwar Syed (KIG Central Committee member) delivered Onam-Eid special message.
KWA Patron Ayyub Kechery, Treasurer Eby Paul, KWA Vanithavedi representative Sindhu Ajesh, along with other organizations’ representatives Aboobacker, Hamza Payyanoor (Metro Medicals) made felicitation speeches.

A comedy skit performed by KWA Art Convener Sri. Jijil and his team from Helpline Welfare Association, Comedy Dance and Oppana fusion by KWA Salmiya zone was highly attractive and enjoyable. Live Ganamela by Sruthilaya Orchestra Team was another entertainment for the attendees.
The Onapookalam designed and created by P. Aravindakshan (Voice Kuwait Secretary) and Gopinathan along with KWA Vice President Smt. Mini Krishna was a unique presentation for audience.
Specially assigned food committee coordinated the delicious lunch for all.
Specially invited Media representatives Abdul Fathah Thayyil (Gulf Malayali), Riyas (Ayanam) Sathar Kunnil (Ejalakam) and many associations officials and noted personalities Saleem (Nama Kuwait), Shoba Nair (Social Activist), Saji Mandalathil (Thamarassery Association), Biju (KKTA President), Anu Antoney (President, Helpline Welfare Association), Shaiju (Kozhikkode Association), Vani Vismaya and Rekha from KDA Mahilavedi, Alex Varghese & Raghunadan Nair (Tanima) attended the event.
End of the day it was a remarkable event with a necessary message of unity and togetherness and taking care each other along with fun. It was an occasion where families enjoyed and children showcased their artistic skills. All appreciated the exuberance and positive atmosphere created in.
