Kuwait Flour Mills and Bakeries Company (KFMB) has announced the opening of the first factory for gluten-free products, the first of its kind in the Middle East. This factory is part of the company's social responsibility and role for achieving food security for the whole society, especially people suffering from celiac, CEO of KFMB Mutlaq Al-Zayed told KUNA on Saturday.
Celiac patients can use the company's gluten-free products sold nationwide, he said. The new factory also comes in response to directives by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and his desire to enhance industrial development and turning Kuwait into a financial and commercial hub, Al-Zayed noted.
He stressed KFMB's capabilities and long experience in the food industries. The factory, built on a total area of 1,000 square meters, has been established according to the latest international criteria in the field, he said.
