A technical committee headed by the Acting Director of General Immigration Department Major General Talal Al-Marafi that was formed to study the conditions for issuing commercial and family visit visas to Kuwait, had submitted a proposal to the Assistant Undersecretary for Citizenship and Passport Affairs Major General Mazen Al-Jarrah who approved it and referred it to the Ministry of Interior for final approval, reports Al-Shahed daily quoting sources.

They explained that the proposal suggests charging application fees of KD 100 for commercial and family visit visas, and accepting applications from only those individuals whose monthly salaries are above KD 400 instead of KD 200. The sources indicated that the ministry has approved the proposal, adding that the decision is expected to be announced within a few days.

Meanwhile, Director of Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) Jamal Al-Dousari affirmed that the labor departments of PAM will start receiving applications for transfer of domestic visas to work permits under the private sector based on the allotted conditions, from August 17, reports Al-Anba daily.

He explained one of the conditions that the domestic workers can only transfer their visas to work permits under the same sponsors or any of the latter’s first-degree relatives.
