Kuwaiti Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea stressed the significance of combating corruption.
Al-Sanea made this remark, on Sunday, at the first session of the Conference of the States Parties to the Arab Convention against Corruption, currently being held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
Al-Sanea, who chaired the conference, expressed hope that the conference would see "constructive steps toward combating corruption" by Arab states, within the framework of an anti-corruption convention that was agreed upon in 2013.
On his part, Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Legal Affairs Wajih Hanafi said today's meeting will discuss administrative and structural aspects of this convention.
It will also tackle documentations made by Arab states on measures that should be taken in order to implement this convention efficiently, he added.
