JW Marriott Kuwait sponsored the 4th blood donation campaign for the Pharaoh Bikers Motorcycle Club, the first and only Egyptian motorcycle club in Kuwait, which was organized in cooperation with the Kuwait Central Blood Bank (KCBB). The event took place on Friday, 11 November at the luxurious Al Jahra Ballroom.

More than 200 bikers participated in this great initiative. The event started with a parade from Salmiya to JW Marriott Kuwait in Kuwait City, where the campaign was held.

A special medical clinic was set up by the Central Blood Bank to allow the bikers to donate blood while also giving them the opportunity to undergo some basic health checks, including for blood pressure. The blood bank was able to collect more than 70 blood units.

The Doctors from the KCBB explained that blood is always needed in Kuwait, and mentioned that they are pleased with the generosity and level of awareness of both locals and expatriates in the country.

“We are very active when it comes to charity and supporting local community,” said Ramez Adel, the Media Officer of the Pharaoh Bikers, “Corporate social responsibility comes in many forms and donating blood is a very valuable way of contributing to local communities.”

Commenting on the event, George Aoun, Cluster General Manager of Kuwait Marriott Hotels, said: “Sponsoring this great event reinforces Marriott’s ongoing commitment towards supporting every aspect of the local community and environment, while fulfilling its global 'Spirit to Serve' initiatives."

“Through organizing and sponsoring blood drives, we aim to spread awareness in the local community on the importance of serving as a good example that upholds the value of the community as a whole. We strongly encourage all citizens and residents in Kuwait to donate to this vital cause whenever they can, as a mission to provide care to individuals in need, and save lives,” Aoun added.
