November 19, 2018, 4:15 pm

A large gathering of people on the seaside was mesmerized by the spectacular maneuvers of the Italian aircraft, T346A and Eurofighter flown by Reparto Sperimentale Volo and Italian Acrobatic Team 'Frecce Tricolori'.

The air show, organized by the Office of the Italian Defense Attaché', supported by the Italian Embassy in Kuwait and Italy-based aerospace and defense company Leonardo, has showcased the achievements of Italian technology, according to Italian ambassador H.E. Giuseppe Scognamiglio.

In a statement, Ambassador Scognamiglio said: “This is an extraordinary inauguration of our Italian Week in Kuwait which is being launched today with the breathtaking air show performed by the Italian pilots of 'Frecce Tricolori'. This amazing technical performance with spectacular maneuvers of the Italian aircrafts T346A and Eurofighter is the perfect start of the 3rd edition of our cultural and promotional event that, from today until Sunday, 25 November, will develop the far-reaching and diversified range of activities that varies from concerts to exhibitions, from fashion events to artistic activities, from cuisine to conferences”.

Lt General Alberto Rosso, chief of staff of the Italian Air Force, said: “It’s an honor for us to bring the Italian Flag in Kuwait together with the excellence in the Defense sector”. “This event contributes to strengthening the ties of our collaboration with Kuwait Armed Forces. This is also an opportunity for Italy to demonstrate, as a country, the high reliability of its technological capabilities and know-how. Opportunities for cooperation with the Italian aerospace and defense industry are varied, solid and growing".

He added, "Italian Air Force and Kuwait Air Force have been cooperating for many years in the field of flight training. Today we have seen some of the best Italian military aircraft. T-346A, for example, is a state-of-art trainer system. We use it in Lecce Air Base, home of the 61st Flight Training Wing. Here next Tuesday the Kuwaiti cadets will graduate as military pilots. They followed a specific advanced training syllabus based on the T-346A, an innovative integrated training system, and advanced Live Virtual and Constructive (LVC) Simulation technology".
