Kuwaiti investors are welcomed to seek business within Iraq and they will have a slight advantage over other business personnel, said an Iraqi official Friday. Iraqi Minister of Planning and Commerce, Suleiman Al-Jumaili told KUNA that Kuwaiti companies and corporations have a strong presence in the regional and international markets.
Iraq is interested in boosting economic and commercial ties with Kuwait, said the Iraqi official who affirmed that such cooperation would benefit both fellow Arab countries.
He commended his meetings with Kuwaiti top officials, saying that the gatherings reflected the strong ties linking the two countries. Speaking on the situation in Iraq, the minister said that the greatest challenge facing development in Iraq was the security threat posed by the so-called Islamic State (IS) and other terror groups.
Once the Iraqi government and allies successfully cleanse Iraq from terror groups, the national market will focus on building and reinforcing Iraq's economy.
