In a magnificent and solemn investiture organized in the school auditorium on the 4 May 2014, 79 leaders of Indian Educational School (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan) were ceremoniously invested the staff of authority with the student council for guiding and fronting the student community by the Chief Guest of the event Dr. Qaisar.H.Siraj, an eminent nuclear medicine consultant at Farwaniya Hospital, Kuwait and University College Hospital, London.
The proceedings began with the nonpareil marching-in of the supreme council members to the auditorium. The military precision and decorum displayed by the young Bhavanites during the March parade captured the attention of the onlookers. With grace, the elected leaders proudly marched in sync with the shrill notes of bugle and gauged drum beats.
The Chief Guest Dr.Qaisar.H.Siraj, in his very motivational speech, emphasised on the responsibilities of leaders and the importance of developing leadership qualities. He lauded the efforts of the school management in fostering the spirit of democracy among the students. He exhorted the student leaders to exceed the expectations of their community as well as their teachers by being the role models for their schoolmates to emulate by conducting themselves in a highly dignified and professional manner at all times.
The words of wisdom and motivation were appreciatively accepted with thunderous applause causing the auditorium to reverberate. He hoped that the student generation from the largest democratic country of the world would uphold their supreme sense of democracy in its truest sense and essence.
The Head Boy (Aibel George Thomas), the Head Girl (Keerthini.B.Rajkumar), the Junior Head Boy (Aditya Kumar), the Junior Head Girl (Lakshmi Sahiti), Cultural Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, Student Editor, House Captains, Vice Captains, Junior House Captains, members of Blossom and the class prefects were bestowed upon the adornments of their authority by Dr. Qaisar.
Mr. T.Premkumar, the principal, administered the oath for the newly elected student parliament. When the young leaders with an unwavering boom of resolution and unswerving sense of commitment, had sworn in by taking the oath of allegiance, the auditorium once again resonated with roaring applause.
Abel George Thomas, the Head Boy and, Keerthini. B. Rajkumar, the Head Girl, in their acceptance speeches, assured the student community that they would make sincere attempts to live up to their expectations. They avowed their dedication to the institution and asserted with verve and veracity that the new supreme council would encourage the students to excel in curricular, non-curricular and extra-curricular activities and they would always strive to uphold the lofty ideals that Bhavan stands for.
The Guest of Honour Mrs Qaisar and the Chairman, Bhavan Group of Schools, Middle East, Mr. N.K.Ramachandran Menon gave away the medals and certificates to the multitude of multifaceted Bhavanites who were honoured on the occasion for their academic proficiency, all-round performance, public speaking skills and numerical abilities. The awardees of many an assessment including Science and Math Olympiads were also honoured at the function.
Wilfred William of class 12 delivered the welcome speech. Ahsan Hamza of class 12 proposed the vote of thanks. Sonia Titus and Vanshika Gandotra were the emcees for the day.
