As national celebrations kicked off in Al-Ahmadi governorate, Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Humoud Al-Sabah lauded the participation of GCC countries' nationals, which reflects deep and brotherly ties amongst the people in this region.
During the celebration, Sheikh Salman praised the efforts exerted by the governorate to mark the national holidays, Al-Ahmadi governorate said in a statement on Monday.
Al-Ahmadi governorate kicked off its celebrations Sunday evening at its stadium under the patronage of Al-Ahmadi governor Sheikh Fawaz Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Sheikh Fawaz highlighted the importance of marking national days to induce sense of patriotism and loyalty toward the country, especially in the newer generations.
National celebrations in Al-Ahmadi governorate will continue until February 21. They include exhibitions, kiosks for small businesses and folkloric music bands from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain This year's national holidays celebrate the UN naming of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahamd Al-Jabar Al-Sabah as a "Humanitarian Leader" and Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center".
