An Indian expatriate was arrested at Sheikh Saad Al- Abdullah Terminal for attempting to smuggle 8 kgs of gold into the country. According to sources, customs officers were inspecting the luggage of the passengers when they noticed an individual trying to escape without passing through the customs.
They checked him to find gold around his abdomen and feet. When questioned, he confessed that he was planning to sell them to the owner of a gold shop. He was arrested and referred with the confiscated gold to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action against him.
Meanwhile, a wanted Kuwaiti citizen was arrested in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. He was referred to the Directorate General for Drug Control for investigations. In addition, an Egyptian expatriate was arrested in Salmiya area in possession of hashish and tools used for consuming drugs.
