The Indian embassy held a Constitution Day program on its premises as part of the nationwide celebrations to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, who was the chairman of the drafting committee on the Indian constitution. Among the attendees were the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Sunil Jain and distinguished guests aside from a large audience of teachers, students and parents. A.K. Srivastava, Second Secretary – Community Welfare welcomed the gathering, and the Indian Ambassador and officials presented a floral tribute to a framed photo of Dr. Ambedkar.
Pani J. Anthony, recipient of the Dr. Ambedkar National Award, Model UN speaker and HR Manager, gave an inspiring speech on the occasion where he praised the Indian Constitution and National integration. He called on his fellow Indians to rejoice in unity, stating, “We, especially the younger generation, should learn from the respected mentors and elders. The feeling of oneness, the feeling of religious harmony, the feeling of Indianness. By giving a helping hand to the fellow citizens, we will grow professionally, academically, morally and above all patriotically.” The students present at the function were especially inspired by the ardency expressed by their elders at the function.
