October 3, 2016, 12:29 pm

The Indian Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Sunil Jain marked the 147th birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as the Father of the Nation on 2 October on the embassy premises. In his honor, the day is also celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Non-Violence.

As part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, the Indian Ambassador placed a garland on the new Gandhi statue in an official ceremony witnessed by a large gathering of embassy officials, Indian nationals and well-wishers. Students from nine Indian schools added their own voices to the occasion with a fitting tribute, a collection of popular patriotic songs. Tania Mirza regaled the crowd with a musical session on her flute accompanied on tabla by Sajeev Kumar.
