Increase in power consumption due to current high temperatures
August 2, 2017, 8:40 am

For the first time, electricity usage reached a record high on Monday exceeding 14,000MW, reports Al-Qabas daily. It is worth mentioning that Kuwait has been providing Abu Dhabi with 200MW on daily basis from the beginning of July. This means the net electricity usage on Monday was 13,866MW. Before this, the highest recorded consumption rate this season was 13,800MW.

Sources affiliated to Ministry of Electricity and Water revealed that the current high temperatures in the country represent the main reason for the increased consumption of electricity and water especially during the daytime.

Meanwhile, Minister of Public Works Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa recently held discussions with members of Al-Khairan Residents Committee concerning their demands related to infrastructure and service roads.
