“Try not to become a man of success. Rather become a man of value”. Thursday was a splendid day for ICSK Senior as they witnessed the inaugural function of the Value club, which was held at the Senior School auditorium on 8 May 2014. The ceremony was blessed with the amiable presence of the honorable members of the ICSK Board of Trustees, teachers and students.Rev.Fr.Franco Pereira; Indian English Academy Kuwait was the chief guest. The program was an inspiring one and students attended the function with a great conviction.

The club aims at convincing and encouraging human values among students in this postmodern technologically advanced world. Students must learn their own values in life and work to build a strong character. Good values will help students lead a more positive life filled with opportunities that will guide them to the fulfillment of life’s purpose.

The function was presided over by Miss Ashly Reji, president –value club and the program began with invoking the blessings of the Almighty by lighting the lamp, symbolically denoting the expedition from darkness to light. The congregation was welcomed by Miss Zakina Zakir, Vice-president Value club. The chief guest Fr. Franco Pereira, emphatically stated in his inspiring speech that “we all protect our life because we care for it more than anything else. If life is so important, the values of life are even more important. Values are guiding principles or standards of behavior, which are regarded desirable, important and held in high esteem by a particular society in which a person lives”.

Dr. V.Binumon; Principal ICSK also congratulated the children and appreciated the office bearers of the Value club. He also quoted Mahatma Gandhi “If wealth is lost nothing is lost. If health is lost something is lost. If character is lost everything is lost” to emphasize the importance of character growth among schoolchildren. The inaugural function ended with The Indian National Anthem.
