IMA holds second Grand Inter Faith Iftar

Indian Muslim Association (IMA) conducted its second Iftar party this Ramadan. IMA Salmiya, Khaitan, Abbasiya, Youth wing team and Kuwait City zonals organized an Inter Faith Iftar Party at Rajdhani Place Hotel, Khaitan. The party received an overwhelming response from representatives from several associations in Kuwait as well as invited guests from various faiths.

Mr. A.K. Srivastava (Second secretary to the Indian Embassy in Kuwait) and Sheikh Khalid Al Saba, Head of the IPC were chief guests. Speaking on the occasion, A.K. Srivastava on behalf of the Indian embassy congratulated everyone for Ramadan and then further stated, “We are all proud and privileged to be part of country which is known for its unity and diversity where we have festivals right from the first month and the citizens interact with each other irrespective of caste, creed and religion."

A. K. Srivastava emphasized on the importance of fasting and the month of Ramadan which teaches people to have compassion and kindness towards other fellow citizens and thereby maintain peace and harmony in the community”.

Khalid Al Saba of Islam Presentation Committee (IPC) emphasised  inter faith understanding and congratulated the Indian dispora for their active participation in the Iftar gathering.

Dr. Jitendra Ariga (President, Indian Dentist Alliance in Kuwait), Adv. Palavilayil Thomas Panicker (President, Indian Lawyers Forum), Dinesh Chamoli (President, Uttarakhand Cultural Association Kuwait), Korukonda Anil Kumar (President, Abhaya NRI Foundation), Shri Chejaralla Indra Kumar Raju (Chairman, Indrani Charitable Trust, Tirupati) were the Guests of Honor at the event.

Special guest attendees were Engineer Abdul Lateef Al Munaify from Social reformation Society and Mohammed Ali from Ministry of Awkaf and Sheikh Jamal Noori from Jamia Noori Charitable Trust. Guests of Honor too shared the dais and expressed sincere thanks to IMA for inviting them and appreciated IMA for its continuous efforts in promoting cultural and social activities.

Nisar Ahmed, a well know personality in Kuwait delivered a lecture along with a presentation on the subject 'Signs of Creator in the Creation', whereby he explained the universal creation of galaxies, stars, planets and  animals, birds’ creepers etc. and parallel provided cross references of the creatures from the Quran. A number of facts of several universal creations were provided in his presentation. 

Nisar Ahmed mentioned that a person has to wonder who is the one who has created and is managing all these creations without any hindrances. He stated further, "Frequently it has been reminded in the holy book that “I (God) am the one has created all universe and on the last day (Day of Qiyamah, I am going to destroy all these creation and then everyone has to return back to me”. 

Maulana Waliullah Saeedi Falahi , an Islamic scholar and lecturer from India, delivered a second speech on the subject, 'Ramadan ka Sandesh'.

Maulana explained the purpose and benefits of the holy month Ramadan, particularly for Muslims. Maulana emphasised the fact that due to improper understanding of the respective religions teachings and improper adherence of God’s commands by the mankind, there is disharmony and distress in the world. Maulana further stated, "Ramadan is a very special time for Muslims, but the feelings and lessons we experience should stay with us throughout the year and through increased devotion".

Yusuf Chorghay gave a brief introduction of IMA and its activities where he highlighted the association mission and objectives, the activities conducted by IMA to promote communal unity, peace and harmony in addition to the social welfare activities performed by IMA in terms of providing assistance to needy victims.

The program began with Quran recitation by Hafiz Tayab and concluded with vote of thanks by Khazi Zafar. The program was convened by Yusuf Chorghay. At the end of the program the guest were served with delicious buffet dinner.
