Indian Muslim Association (IMA) Youth Wing organized an essay-writing and an online quiz program on the theme ‘Muhammad – The Messenger of Peace’ in February to coincide with Kuwait’s celebration of Hala February festival. The main objective of the campaign was to create awareness and remove misconceptions about the prophet of Islam - Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
The Salmiya Zone of IMA Youth Wing took the initiative to run this online campaign to encourage the general public, especially students, residing in Kuwait to research and read about the history of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), his noble characteristics, his role as a ruler, as a family member, as a neighbor, as a friend and in various other aspects of life.
Both the online quiz and essay writing competition were conducted with the help of www.TimesKuwait.com, and attracted participation of students and adults from different religions and nationalities.
The quiz comprised of 10 questions and a written paragraph, based on which the winners were judged. In the essay-writing competition, participants could select a topic from four given choices and the winners were awarded based on their knowledge and articulation on the subject matter. All entries were strictly checked for plagiarism.
