IKEA’s cooking initiative attracts amateur cooks and renowned chefs

IKEA Kuwait recently hosted a series of cooking classes, bringing together eager cooking amateurs who were able to learn and discover the art of preparing traditional Ramadan dishes from well-known chefs in the country. The classes were held on a daily basis from the 11 till  24 June at the IKEA store.

Sharing a common passion for food and an appetite to learn, over 100 participants were mentored by 14 renowned chefs in groups of eight on the various techniques and methods that are best suited for traditional Ramadan dishes, which include appetizers, main dishes and desserts. In an effort to be fully inclusive to all family members, IKEA Kuwait also hosted a special class for handicapped participants on Friday and another class dedicated for children eager to develop their culinary skills.

The initiative was exclusively announced and promoted on IKEA Kuwait’s social media channels and website at and registration for the classes were fully booked within four days of announcing the initiative. Customers who were not able to participate in the classes were also able to get a glimpse of the cooking classes through IKEA Kuwait’s social media accounts that broadcasted segments of the cooking classes to their followers.

Through the amateur cooking competition and the cooking initiative held over the Holy Month, IKEA Kuwait aims to celebrate and enrich life’s special moments in and around the kitchen with their customers.

In addition, IKEA Kuwait also released the IKEA Cook Book 2016, a delectable recipe book comprising 20 exciting local and international recipes from ten of the best chefs in Kuwait. The 62-page bilingual recipe book features an array of both international and local recipes varying from appetizers, main dishes and desserts which comes as a timely treat for IKEA Family Members over the Holy Month.

Through the Holy Month of Ramadan, the IKEA store will be open from 11am till 4pm and from 8pm to 1am for customers to enjoy the beautiful and affordable IKEA solutions. Their restaurant, located on the first floor, will be open from 6pm to 12:30am offering an array of delicious Iftar dishes for everyone to enjoy.
