IFRA holds annual general body meeting

Indian Football Referees Association – Kuwait (IFRA) held their 36th Annual General Body Meeting on 13 October at Indian English Academy School (IEAS)-Salmiya.

With 28 active members in Kuwait, IFRA is probably the only Indian expatriate referees’ overseas body in the world with qualified referees, who have to pass stringent tests to qualify from grade III to grade I to officiate matches in Kuwait. In the season 2016-17, IFRA provided services to over 11 different tournament organizers and officiated a record 400 matches ranging from veterans to young children.

Francisco Fernandes (Class I referee) a senior official was elected President of the Association for the year 2017-2018, and he thanked the previous managing committee led by president Sarto Baptisa (Class 1 referee) for a successful season. Awards and incentives were given to the best performing referees followed by a sumptuous lunch buffet.

The  list of elected officials are:  President – Francisco Fernandes, Vice President – Midas Fernandes, Hon. Secretary – Kevin Vaz, Treasurer – Jose Afonso, Member - Sarto Baptista, Member – Junifer Rodrigues, Member – Steven Rodrigues, Member – Julio Cardoso, and Hon. Auditor – Lloyd D’Souza.
