Indian Educational Schoo (IESl) organized the prize distribution ceremony of Chroma 2016, an annual interschool art competition sponsored by Mrs. and Mr. Prince Chacko in memory of their beloved daughter, late Ruth Chacko who bade adieu to the world of mortals to be with lord Almighty. The event was truly a fine gesture to commemorate Ruth, an enthusiastic painter and a lover of drawing and coloring.

The competition was held on 5 November, 2016 in the school auditorium and was adjudged by well-known professional artists  M.V Jon, CEO of IARCO,  Arun Pallot of Idea Plus Communication, Kuwait and Mahendran Ottakandam, Creative Director of BPG Kuwait. There were 140 budding artists from 9 Indian schools in Kuwait contesting in five categories – LKG-UKG, Standards I- II, II-IV, V- VI and VII-IX.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony organized in the school auditorium on 17 November, 2016 was well attended by a fairly large audience that consisted of teachers, parents, participants and little Ruth’s batch mates.

The lighting of the ceremonial lamp conjointly performed by the parents of Late Ruth, Mrs. and Mr. Prince Chacko, the chairman N.K Ramachandran Menon, the principal T. Premkumar, the principal of Smart Indian SchoolMahesh Iyer, the vice principal Mrs. Lalitha Premkumar (Primary and Kindergarten wings), along with the Head of the Art Department  Mukundan Pazhanimala, marked the significance and the solemnity of the occasion.

The winners of the contest were accorded mementos and cash prize by Mr. Prince Chacko, the sponsor of the contest, in the presence of other dignitaries of the function. Mr. Prince, in his heart-rending speech, expressed his profound gratitude to the Bhavan’s management for making this competition a mega, renowned and full-fledged Interschool Art Contest, which had a humble beginning seven years ago.

He also underlined that the most befitting tribute to be paid to his daughter was always something related to art. Following that, principal, T. Premkumar expressed his profound gratitude to the parents of Late Ruth for sponsoring the contest, congratulated the prize winners, thanked the parent-teacher community of the participating schools for their whole-hearted support and extolled the efforts of the vibrant Art Department of IES for having organized an impressive contest.
