ICSK hosts first ever table tennis tournament

ICSK hosted the first ever ICSK Table Tennis Tournament on the 13th and 14th of April, that witnessed an impressive participation of a total of 52 participants from 10 esteemed schools in Kuwait. The enthusiastic boys and girls sweated for honors in three categories, namely, Under 12, Under 14 and Under 17 in singles, doubles and mixed doubles fixtures during the two days filled with fervor and excitement, experienced amidst thrills, shrills and cheers.

Mrs. Sherly Dennis, chief sports coordinator and Principal ICSK Junior addressed the gathering that included Hon. Chairman, Mr. Sheikh Abdul Rahiman, Hon. Secretary, Mr. Amer Mohammed, Dr. V. Binumon, Principal and Senior Administrator, Principals Mr. Rajesh Nair, Mr. Gangadhar Shirsath, parents, staff and all the participants. Hon. Chairman to the board of trustees, ICSK, in his inaugural speech advised the participants to maintain calm and play with concentration. A friendly match between the coaches made way for the highly awaited matches where competitiveness among the students soared through the roof. The games saw impressive participation and performances.

The hosts, ICSK that recently celebrated its record sixteenth CBSE Kuwait Clusters Annual Athletic Championship, proved once again that they are a force to reckon with, as they bagged Winners and runner up trophies in U-12 Boys doubles, U- 14 Doubles(Boys, Girls) and mixed doubles, U -17 girls and mixed doubles. Amongst Boys, U-12 singles trophy was won by Aaron Sanju Thomas of CSK, U-14 by Anirudh Manoj of FAIPS and U-17 by Aditya Jain of FAIPS. Girls U-17 singles winner was Carin Menezes of Indian Central School and Girls U-14 winner was Evelyn Cisal Joechim of ICSK.

The tournament filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish concluded with a glittering prize distribution ceremony presided over by renowned philanthropist and sports enthusiast, Mr. Juzer Ali. The well-organized tournament concluded with a hearty vote of thanks by Vice Principal ICSK Junior, Mrs.C Sheeja who thanked all the PE teachers for their cooperation and support and advised players to keep up their sportsman spirit.
