To cater for the needs of competing candidates aspiring to become officers in the three wings of the Armed Forces of India (Army, Navy & Air force) and also in the Paramilitary Forces under the Central Government (the largest   employer of the Union of India), students of Class X and XI of Indian Community School Kuwait (ICSK) Khaitan attended a career awareness program conducted by Colonel Vijayan, Director, Saradhi Centre for Excellence, Kerala, on Monday, 6 November.

Principal Gangadhar Shirsath warmly welcomed Colonel Vijayan with a bouquet of flowers. In his address, he explained the importance of defence services to the students. Talking about patriotism he said that love for own country eventually motivates each one of us to serve our nation through defence services. He also stated that mother and motherland are always superior to heaven for a true patriot.

In the awareness session, Colonel Vijayan explained various avenues in the defence services where students can walk in. The power point presentation was very informative and impressive. His talk threw light into many areas of defence services which were totally unknown to the students. He also said that students can become Class I Gazetted officers (Commissioned Officers) in less than the time that they spend for becoming just engineering or medical graduates. Mentioning about in-service benefits and retirement benefits, he claimed that no other service is comparable with the defence service.

In the interactive session Colonel Vijayan clarified the queries of the students. The program came to an end by the vote of thanks by the Vice Principal, Ravi Ayanoli.
