ICSK Khaitan holds Investiture Ceremony

The Indian Community School Kuwait-Khaitan conducted the investiture ceremony of the members of the School Senate 2017-18 on 18 May.

The Senate consists of the President, Vice President, Sports Captain, Asst. Sports Captain, Arts Club Secretary, Assistant Arts Club Secretary, Student Editor, Assistant Student Editor and Junior Senate.

There are also the House Captains and Asst. House Captains of the four Houses of the school viz. Shanti, Seva, Sahyog and Santosh

The investiture ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by the national anthems of Kuwait and India.

On this auspicious occasion, ICSK, Khaitan was delighted to have an eminent personality, Dr. Salah Al- Sharhan, Vice President for Academic Affairs at ‘Gulf University for Science and Technology’, Kuwait as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied by Mohsin Rakhangi the Director of E-Learning, Center of Excellence at Gulf University for Science and Technology. Also present from the Board of Trustees of ICSK were Vinukumar Nair, Hon. Vice Chairman with many a well-wishers and parents.

The tradition lighting of the lamp ceremony was done by the dignitaries. The Principal K.G. Shirsath welcomed the gathering cordially.

The members of the Senate were administered the oath of office by the Vice Principal Ravi Ayanoli.

The Office bearers: President – Rayyan A Khaleel, Vice President – Abdul Aziz A Koya, Sports Captain – Ayman Naeem, Asst Sports Captain –Alisha Abdul Raouf, Arts Club Secretary – Suhail A. K.,  Asst Arts Club Secretary –Fida Firoz , School Magazine Editor -  Christine Anna Mathews, Asst. School Magazine Editor    - Christina Anna Daniel.

Junior Senate was awarded their Badges of Office by Mohsin Rakhangi. Jr. President – Neha Benny, Jr. Sports Captain- Sharen Ravindran, Jr. Discipline in charge- Ashin.  The newly invested senate rose up to the occasion by joining as one to sing the age old song “Hum Honge Kaamyaab”/ We shall Overcome.

Dr. Salah in his speech reiterated the fact that there is no power greater than knowledge and that education is the path to attain it. He recounted his experiences which were greeted with great applause from the young people. He reminded the students that hard work and only hard work with values would help anyone to attain greatness. He endeared himself to the students with his words of wisdom and the attributes that a true leader needs to possess. While he was felicitated with a memento, he reciprocated by giving beautiful paintings made by his students to the school.

The day was made memorable by dances and singing by the budding talents of ICSK Khaitan. In the end, Senate President Reyan Khaleel presented vote of thanks to express the gratitude of his senate for the wonderful programme dedicated to them.
