The Indian Community School Kuwait Junior conducted two special assemblies on 25 September to pay homage to the 18 Indian soldiers who lost their precious life in the recent attack in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir.

In a very special and simple manner little children were made aware of the sacrifice made by our sons of India for the safety and security of the Indian Nation.

Assembly in-charges Mrs. Soumya and Mrs. Amandeep delivered the message to students in a solemn manner, reminding them on their duty as citizens of India. Principal in-charge Mrs. Sherly Dennis inculcated the feelings of nationalism and patriotism in children and all staff members by administering the pledge ‘I, do hereby, swear allegiance, to the unity and integrity of India and pay homage to the dear departed in the recent terrorist atrocities in Kashmir. I also promise that I will try my level best to root out terrorism of all degrees and dedicate myself for the welfare of my nation’.

She further informed the students on the fund initiated by Indian Government for the families of the Indian Military and Para-Military forces.

A touching three minute silence was observed with Vande Mantaram played softly in the background. The KD 1/- campaign commenced with voluntary contribution by Principal in-charge Sherly Dennis, followed by Vice-Principals Mrs. Murthy and Mrs. Sheeja, section supervisors and HODs.
