Indian Business council, IBC, hosted a reception to visiting dignitary Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, the Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission of India and accompanying delegation. Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia visited Kuwait along with a high level delegation from India for a two day official visit to bolster economic relations.
The reception hosted by IBC comprised of its members and prominent Indian community members and was held at the Marafie Grand Ballroom at Radisson Blu Hotel.
IBC Chairman S.K. Wadhawan, welcomed Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia and the accompanying delegation along with the distinguished guests at the gathering. Indian Ambassador to Kuwait HE Satish C Mehta also spoke on the occasion. He emphasized on the importance of interaction between two Indian and Kuwaiti Business communities having long standing business and cultural ties.
Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia said that the current economic slowdown is not exclusive to India, but the whole world is facing the slowdown. “You should always take a long term view with respect to investment”, he said. Growth last year and this year slow downed in the whole world, by contrast our performance is much better, he said.
