The International Advertising Association (IAA) and Crowne Plaza hotel hosted a joint-venture annual Ghabga on 30 June 2014 in the luxurious Al Baraka Grand Ballroom of Crowne Plaza hotel. The event was attended by Rami Haikal GM of Crowne Plaza, Walid Kanafani President of IAA Kuwait Chapter, Sheikh Faisal Al Homoud Governor of Farwaniya, Fares Abu Hamad Chairman and World President of IAA, Emma Farmer Festival Director of Dubai Lynx & Lions Festival along with top VIP officials from Media, Advertising agencies, PR companies, Consultancy firms and Market researchers.
Over 700 guests attended the event and were welcomed by the General Manager of Crowne Plaza Hotel Rami Haikal, who wished them all a blessed “Ramadan Kareem” and pointed out some of the major achievements of the Crowne Plaza such as the recent unveiling of Al Baraka Grand Ballroom and the unique and luxurious settings of the latest addition to the Crowne Plaza family. He said that the Al Baraka Grand Ballroom was created by the world renowned Fauchon Paris, and is intended for clients looking to organize lavish boutique weddings, corporate affairs or social soirées.
Walid Kanafani, the IAA President of Kuwait Chapter, extended his Ramadan wishes to everybody. Kanafani also shared some of the IAA achievements and activities of 2014 and delivered a full presentation about IAA board activities during the last two years. He also touched on the IAA board members elections to be held on 15 July 2014 along with a Ghabqa night at Holiday Inn Salmiya.
Kanafani highlighted the participation of IAA Kuwait Chapter in the IAA World Congress held in Beijing on April 14 as well as the participation in the Cannes Lions Festival held in France on June 14 as a major achievement. Finally, Kanafani encouraged the audience to join the IAA Kuwait Chapter and reap the benefits of the organization.
Governor of Farwaniya Sheikh Faisal Al Homoud extended his happiness for his participation in the event by welcoming everyone. Al Homoud also encouraged all to work as one hand and as a team to improve the organization’s productivity in Kuwait.
Fares Abu Hamad Chairman & World President of IAA thanked IAA board members for their invitation and Crowne Plaza for their support. He explained the major events and the background of IAA internationally as well as the human participation of the IAA in 120 countries. Finally, Abou Hamad invited all the attendees to participate and attend the Adv. Summit to be held in Moscow on 14 October and the Africa Rising summit to be held in Ghana on 14 November.
Emma Farmer Festival Director of Dubai Lynx & Lions Festival shared with the audience the achievements and activities of Dubai Lynx held on March 14, highlighting the presence of more than 64 speakers, in addition to the awards ceremony for the winners. She added that the Cannes Lions Festival held this June 14 was very successful. More than 20 thousand participants attended and the presence of more than 300 international speakers was an added value to the festival. Emma encouraged the audience of the event to attend and participate in the Cannes Lion next year.
