Officers from Coast Guard Department foiled an attempt made by four Kuwaiti citizens to smuggle 9 birds of prey and 50 bustards.
In a press release issued by Ministry of Interior, the General Department of Public Relations and Media Security explained that the officers were patrolling south area of Boubyan Island when they stopped a boat based on suspicions and checked the details of the four individuals on board to discover they are Kuwaiti citizens.
They searched the boat to find two bags containing nine birds of prey and five large cages containing 50 bustards.
They also found a gun. The citizens were arrested and referred with the birds to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
