Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan on Friday donated Rs2.5 million (Dh136,730) to the Ramanaidu Charitable Trust for Chennai flood relief.
The actor sent a cheque of Rs2.3 million and medicines worth Rs200,000 as his contribution towards the #ManaMadrasKosam initiative.
“Hrithik Roshan demonstrated his commitment and his compassion to Chennai relief efforts, initiated by Ramanaidu Charitable Trust, by this humble donation. We are grateful to Hrithik’s support,” said Rana Daggubati, the actor who is spearheading the initiative.
“It is inspiring and happy to see support coming from all quarters. It is an arduous task for all of us and to step up and help with the recovery by contributing in multitude of ways each of us can,” he added.
Ramanaidu Charitable Trust has been actively engaged in Chennai flood-relief operations, helping people gain access to food, water, medicines and clothing.
