The Health Ministry on Monday launched a national life-saving campaign purposed to boost public awareness about first aid practices. At the opening ceremony, Head of the Organizing Committee Jamal Al-Harbi said the life-saving campaign is mainly intended to educate the public on first aid treatment and give them the knowledge to provide emergency medical care to wounded patients in a correct manner.
Now that chronic diseases, mainly heart problems, are mainly to blame for death in Kuwait, it has become a pressing need to organize training courses for life-saving, he added. The program aims to educate the public on first aid, and provide individuals with necessary responses in case of an emergency, Al-Harbi pointed out.
He added that the programs targets better awareness in secondary school and university students and employees, in addition to educating around 10 percent of Kuwaiti adults on first aid practices over a span of five years.
