Gulf-based NRI businessman wins Pravasi Ratna Award

Prominent Gulf-based Businessman, Dr. K.T. Rabeeullah has been honored with the prestigious ‘Pravasi Ratna Award’ this year by Europe’s first ever Malayalam Movie Award Show for his outstanding contributions to community welfare and compassion of souls activities among the mankind. This prestigious award for his noble and charitable activities over three decades to help fellow humans will be conferred on 28 May.

Dr. K.T. Rabeeullah, Chairman of Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group is renowned for his philanthropic activities. For him charity begins at home in every sense. The pension scheme he implemented at his village is the finest example. He has adopted his native village of East Kodur, Kerala. He provided livelihood for several families by offering them free auto rickshaws. He has been supporting dozens of poor students by supporting their fees and scholarships.

He has won many accolades during the three decades of his social and charitable service. In 2013 he was conferred with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Award, the highest honor accorded to people of overseas Indian for their pioneering role in enhancing India’s image globally.

He has recently started a charity initiative of USD 1.5 million to be distributed within a span of three years for the needy and deserving families. Earlier this month, he extended his help for the family of Jisha, who was brutally raped and murdered in Perumbavoor, Kerala by offering 5 cent of land to construct a house and BHD 1800 to Jisha’s mother for assistance.

Last month, Shifa Al jazeera Medical Group has disbursed BHD 300 each to the families of those killed in the fireworks accident at the Puttingal Temple at Paravur, Kerala. The group has provided drinking water for the residents near the Puttingal temple in the wake of the tragedy. Nearly 300 families near the mishap rite have benefited from the programme.
