Statistics issued by the security authorities shows the government of Kuwait has deported nearly one million expatriates over the past 20 years for committing various offenses.
Some of the expats were deported after serving time in prison while others were deported administratively upon orders of the Ministry of Interior. Fifty percent of those deported are believed to be Asians and others Arabs. Most of deportees were accused of bootlegging, trafficking in drugs, robbery, fraud, rape and kidnapping.
Those deported administratively without being referred to the judiciary were violators of residence and labor laws.
