Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Hind Al-Sabeeh stated that the government is embracing and offering all support to the cooperative movement in Kuwait to help it deliver on its mission in serving the society. The government is interested in offering different kinds of help to the cooperative movement, Minister Al-Sabeeh said in statements during a function held by the Kuwaiti Union for Cooperative Societies.
She pointed out that Kuwait has taken important steps forward to develop cooperative work through the passage of law No. 118 of 2012 to help better regulate it and serve the society.
The Minister added that Kuwait is one of the leading countries in the region in terms of the scale of cooperative activities.
She underlined that the Ministry is keen on cooperating and coordination with the Cooperative Societies Union to help it deliver on its mission and enhance its community role.
For his part, Head of the Union Ali Hassan Mohammad said that Kuwait is pioneering in cooperative work.
He described the cooperative societies' contributions to the national economy and social work in Kuwait as "pivotal".
Mohammad said that the Union is working to upgrade the performance of cooperative societies nationwide to meet the needs and aspirations of consumers and the whole society.
He also highlighted a number of the projects financed by the cooperative societies in the past few years as a part of its social responsibility role.
