If you think you have heard it all when it comes for ways to get your brows just right, then think again. Fashionistas are always on the hunt for techniques that won’t leave their brows just looking good, but looking perfect. These five tricks may seem surprising to you now, but they are guaranteed to work their way into your daily routine in no time.

Concealer: Consider concealer to be your number one secret weapon for flawless brows. If you don’t know how this could be possible, let us explain: Using your favorite concealer to clean up the area around your brows gives the entire area a professional, lifted look. It hides stray hairs and emphasizes the area, so brows just look fresher, like lipstick does when you use concealer to outline. It is super subtle, and kind of difficult to describe, but it makes a world of difference. Just use a thin concealer brush to run concealer directly under your brows, following the natural curve of the bone, and blend well. You can also use it to define the inner corners of your brows right near the bridge of your nose.

Mascara: For serious staying power and a bold yet natural look, mascara really gets the job done. If you have naturally dark brows, black or brown mascara makes for the perfect multitasking product to save you precious purse space. Wipe the excess mascara from the wand using a tissue, then use gentle strokes to brush your brows into place. It couldn’t be easier, and it really fills out and defines the brows.

Hair pomade: Thick, waxy pomades have the perfect texture for giving brows natural hold that really lasts, but comes off easily at the end of the day. Go ahead and use it alone if your brows don’t need filling out, or use it as a final step to keep everything in place after you have filled in sparse areas with your pencil or powder of choice. You can lightly coat a clean spoolie in the pomade for soft hold, or use your finger to smooth out the entire brow.

Translucent powder: Just as you can use translucent powder to give lipstick better staying power, the same can be said of keeping brow products in place. Brow gels and markers really, anything with moisture tend to fade faster than powders or pencils, but if they are your product of choice, then there is no reason you should settle for only fleeting perfection. Dip a soft, fluffy brush, ideally a kabuki brush into a small amount of translucent powder and dust it over your brows to set the product without mattifying it completely.

Hairspray: A light mist of hairspray will hold your hairstyle in place, and it will do the same for your brows. You won’t want to spray hairspray anywhere near your eyes obviously, so spritz it onto a clean spoolie, then use it to brush your brows into your desired shape.
