Model-turned-actress Gauhar Khan on Saturday won the seventh season of Bigg Boss and took home the prize money of Rs. 50 lakh and the trophy. She said now her aim is to attain superstardom in showbiz. Gauhar, seen in films like Game and Ishaqzaade, wishes to gain superstardom after the show.
"I wish this platform helps me gain superstardom. There is a very different feeling when people start calling you a superstar. And that's what I want," Gauhar said.
The show went on air on September 15 with 14 celebrities. Five wild card entries also added to the glamour on the show.
Bigg Boss Saath 7 was not Gauhar's first stint on a reality TV. She had earlier participated in the third season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and Khan Sisters. But after winning the reality show, she says she is on seventh heaven.
"It's a dream come true. I feel lucky, honoured and happy to won the show. The 15 weeks of hard work paid off and I feel on the seventh heaven right now," she said.
Gauhar has been one of the strongest contestants on the show: be it taking a stand for what she thought was right, or standing with the one she loves, Gauhar did it all on Bigg Boss 7.
The final episode of seventh season of Bigg Boss was quite entertaining, with all the contestants performing for the audience. Armaan and Kushal performed a dual on the Rockstar song Sadaa Haq, while Gauhar teamed with Kushal for a romantic number Tere Mere Beech Mein Kya Hai from Shuddh Desi Romance.
Predictably, Gauhar has had her share of fights and controversies on the show. And, many believe that could make her the winner. She made a strong impression as she quit the show with Kushal, when he was evicted for attacking co-contestant Andy.
Gauhar, however, later returned to the show, reportedly on the condition that Kushal would be brought back as well. Interestingly, Gauhar also won the heart of co-contestant Kushal on the show. Kushal and Gauhar confesed their love on national television in the reality show. Talking to Hindustantimes.com, Kushal said that he wanted to spend his life with Gauhar. The TV actor had earlier said on the show that he wanted to grow old with actress.
Best known for her dance numbers ‘Jhalla’ and 'Chokra Jawaan' in Ishaqzaade and 'Parda Parda' in Once Upon a Time in Mumbai, the 39-year-old actress also featured in Bollywood movie 'Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year' opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
Gauhar kick-started her career as a model and was Miss India international 2002. She was widely appreciated for her variety performance on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikkhla Jaa. She was also seen in another reality show 'Khan sisters' on UTV Bindass, with her sister Nigaar Khan.
Gauhar will also be seen opposite Rajev Khandelwal in Fever, her first film as the lead heroine.
