Police have arrested a three-man gang – two Syrians and an Indian – for employing runaway maids on a daily basis, reports a local daily. The daily added, the maids worked for the men who took contracts to serve food and do other errands at wedding and birthday parties and also worked in houses.
The maids were reportedly paid KD 2 an hour and police acting on information sent a police agent and caught 10 maids when they offered to work for a birthday party in Andalus. During interrogation they said they were employed by the trio who owned an illusory maids recruiting company. They also said they came to know about the employers when they advertised in the media.
