Kuwaiti Minister of Oil and Minister of Electricity and Water Isam Al-Marzouq said the Third GCC Petroleum Media Forum that kick-started here on Wednesday will have positive impacts on the energy sector in the region.
"The forum provides an important platform for strengthening the relations and communication among the oil and media sectors, and improving the professionalism of media people concerned with the energy sector," he told KUNA.
"The panel discussions will provide the media people with a clear insight into the factors affecting the global oil industry, and the trends of prices, growth, and supply and demand," Al-Marzouq pointed out.
He noted that the GCC oil ministers discussed today the ways for improving the media coverage and the credibility of news, reports, analyses and studies based on official sources.
The minister highlighted the role of oil media in shedding light on the contributions of the oil sector in socio-economic development in the region. Al-Marzouq is scheduled to take part tomorrow in a panel discussion themed "role of media and future trends of oil market.
